Our first major step has been made: last week we applied and were accepted to both our placing and home study agencies!
And – it gets better: we have contracted with our placing agency, which means they have ceased advocating for our little Ladybug since she has a family coming for her (hey, that’s us!)
The next steps are to get started on our home study. Currently, we are working to schedule our document training, which is the first step to starting all of the paperwork necessary. Also, we received our autobiographical questions to answer in preparation for our meetings with the social worker – four pages of questions! I told Chris it’s his first big labor of love for Ladybug, but truthfully, I’m a nut and am excited to fill everything out. (Remind me of my crazy love for filling out forms in about 6 months, okay? 🙂 ) We have also received the dossier checklist that we can begin tackling. The dossier is essentially the application packet that we put together to present to the Prime Minister.
We are also working on our fundraising plan. We have so many ideas, we don’t know where to start! I’m doing my best to relax about my own plans and trust that God will direct our paths – that He will open and shut doors as needed. Some of our ideas are another garage sale (we held one a few weeks ago), designing and selling a T-shirt, an online auction, selling baked goods or decorated cakes, and the list goes on! We’re excited for the chance to advocate for Ladybug and other kiddos who need a family!
Thank you for presenting our family before the throne of God. We are grateful for your intercession!
